WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
(read this whole page...the link for audition information is at the bottom)
Registration for THE WIZARD OF OZ will be held ONLINE
Anyone 8 years old (by show time in February) or in 2nd grade, through adult may register. Parents of 8 year-olds/2nd graders must be heavily committed to be in the Studio Theatre when we move into the PAC, or be in the show.
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Rehearsals are scheduled from 9am-12pm on Saturdays at Newport High School, in the MP Room (cafeteria). We will have ensemble rehearsals every Saturday until two weeks before opening, when they will be held every weeknight from 5-9pm at the Newport Performing Arts Center. These daily rehearsals (for two weeks in February) are mandatory.
If you audition and receive a principal role, you will also have Tuesday and Thursday evening rehearsals, from 6-9pm. Please understand that you must commit to school shows in order to be considered for a principal role.
Check your home, school and sports calendars through March so you can fill out your conflict calendar during registration.
There is a place on the registration form for you to indicate any anticipated absences.
Please know that by registering you are committing to this show through March, so be prepared to schedule around rehearsals and performances!
We will start ensemble rehearsals with a cast/parent meeting on November 5th, followed by rehearsal. We will be available starting at 8:30am for payment processing and conflict calendars.
If you can't make the first rehearsal, contact us asap!

SHOW DATES:
Fridays & Saturdays, February 24, 25 & March 3, 4, 10, 11
School Shows: February 23, 28 & March 7
The registration fee ($80/student $40/adult) will be made in person at our first rehearsal (we only take checks and cash). You will also need a few personal costume items and footwear.
Our policy that "everyone who registers" is cast in the show still holds true, BUT we've had so many register in the past, that we have had to limit cast size due to space at the PAC. This is a RARE, but possible situation (there is a STRONG possibility that the PAC will be under construction during the run of our show, which will further limit space).
If our numbers get too high in any age bracket, we will create a wait list. People sometimes drop out after registration.
Our new registration system time stamps your form, so we will know when you hit submit!
