Registration for ALADDIN Jr. will be held ONLINE
THE IMPORTANT DETAILS
REGISTRATION
CAP Summer Theatre is a LIMITED ENROLLMENT program for 8-18 year-olds. We plan to accommodate 50 participants. Registration opens on April 21st and closes when all spaces are filled.
If our numbers get too high in any age bracket, we will create a wait list for that age (sometimes people drop out).
Our new registration system time stamps your form, so we will know when you hit submit!
You may pay your registration fee by cash or check. Please make your check payable to Coastal Act Productions. Your registration is complete when we receive BOTH your registration AND payment. You may mail checks to us at PO Box 546, Newport, OR 97365, or drop off cash/checks at Newport High School with Jody Hanna written on the front (our amazing secretary will deliver it to me). We will send you an email confirming that we have received your payment.
COST
$295 per participant
Sibling discount: $250
AUDITIONS
We will have initial auditions online, with callbacks in person.
Audition materials are available through May 27th.
We will hand out scripts for speaking roles in advance, so actors can familiarize themselves with the script. Everyone else will receive materials on the first day of Summer Theatre.
HOURS & SCHEDULE
Week 1 (M-F at NEWPORT HIGH SCHOOL)
July 29, 30, 31 August 1, 2: 9am-3pm

(Friday) August 9: 5pm-8pm (5pm call, 7pm performance)
(Sat) August 10: Newport Performing Arts Center 12pm-4pm (12pm call, 2pm performance, 3pm cast party)
Performances
(Thurs/Fri) August 8, 9 Newport Performing Arts Center 7-8pm
(Sat) August 10 Newport Performing Arts Center 2-3pm
COSTUMES
Shoes: All participants are required to provide black ballet type shoes for use onstage. Shoe size options may be limited if you have large feet.
Tights/Socks: All participants are required to provide tights/socks. We will have more details about this when we know exactly what you need.
There is a possibility you will be asked to provide something to wear under a costume (probably some biker shorts or equivalent). If you have to change clothes, it is usually a quick change that requires something on underneath.
CODE OF CONDUCT
We expect good behavior from all participants. It is important that you read and understand our CODE OF CONDUCT in the online forms. You will sign saying that you have done this. We are not a babysitting service. We are producing a play together. You must behave in a respectful manner, or you will lose your place. We want EVERYONE to have a great time!
No refunds will be given for being removed from Summer Theatre.
PARENTS
We will have a first day meeting for parents and cast. We will answer questions and give important info at this time. Parents may not “hang out” at rehearsal. If you would like to participate, ask us for an assignment or responsibility and we will see what we can do to accommodate you. Having groups of adults hanging around is disruptive to our working environment and distracting for the kids. Mostly because it creates side conversations and more noise. As you can imagine, it is noisy enough with all of our actors!
WHO WE ARE
We are a community theatre company. We are not a school theatre company, although most of us work in the schools. We have teachers, teacher aides and registered school volunteers running this program.
If you have questions, please email [email protected]
